Tomorrow is finally the day for Ireland's first multi-city protest calling for better eating disorder services across the country. Please join is in Dublin, Cork, Galway, or Limerick.
We would like to ask everyone to wear black to represent the gravity of the situation. We will be providing purple ribbons for attendees to wear to represent eating disorder recovery, because recovery is possible.
We are protesting for ourselves, our family, friends, relatives, and loved ones who experienced inadequate services for eating disorders, whether it was long wait times, a disconnect in services, a lack of funding, no available beds, or a lack of care or awareness.
I think sometimes it is forgotten that there are actual people and children behind the statistics, who as long as the system is dysfunctional, are suffering and experiencing more difficult recoveries.
Please let's continue to put pressure on the government to improve eating disorder services. Eating disorders are NOT a choice, but ignoring them IS.
